Bangalore , April 1 MR Barrie M. Osborne, producer of well-known films such as Lord of the Rings and Matrix, plans to set up an animation studio in the country. This will be in partnership with Madhusudanan. N, a renowned Chennai-based visual effects specialist. Mr Madhusudanan told Business Line here on Friday that the facility would be different from others existing in the country. "While they help in making television serials, we're looking at making full-length feature films," he said. He, however, did not divulge the financial details of the project. "We are yet to decide on the location," he added. Mr Madhusudanan and Mr Osborne addressed the media and animation industry experts on `Animation and VFX' here on Friday. Mr Osborne who is co-producing Paani with Bollywood producer Shekhar Kapoor said that this was the opportune moment for India to move into international production. Mr Madhusudanan felt the entertainment industry in India would see greater maturity if corporates enter the sector. Indian talent possesses the right skill-sets, but it lacks direction in creativity. "However, India is the inevitable destination for the entertainment industry and in three years, I see Hollywood outsourcing work to India," he said, stating that whatever happened to IT will happen to entertainment. Mr Madhusudanan has received the President's Award for Technical Excellence and Best Visual Effects for the Tamil movie Alavandan. He's also the first Indian to qualify as an active member in the Visual Effects Society, Los Angeles. He was part of the visual effects team for the movie Lord of the Rings, made in 2003.
