Trend Micro, Chinese portal in pact

MUMBAI: Internet security and anti-virus solutions provider Trend Micro has entered into an agreement with China's Internet portal SINA, to provide advanced security protection for e-mail users in China and the global Chinese community, according to a press release.

"Trend Micro acknowledges the importance of a secured Internet infrastructure for China," said Ms Eva Chen, CEO, Trend Micro. "Our vision is to create a world safe for exchanging digital information, and our partnership with SINA enables us to realise that vision in China , she said.

In 2004, a survey conducted by the Ministry of Public Security in China revealed that nearly 88 per cent of the country's computers have been infected by at least one virus.
