AP: Naxal emissaries pull out

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The three emissaries of CPI (Maoist) for talks with the Andhra Pradesh Government have withdrawn from the role they were assigned by the naxalite party last year.

Announcing their decision at a press conference here on Monday, Mr Gaddar, Mr G. Kalyana Rao and Mr Varavara Rao accused the State Government of unleashing violence by resorting to encounter killings after the first round of talks in October. Reacting quickly, Mr K. Jana Reddy, Home Minister, termed the withdrawal decision "unfortunate". "The doors are still open for talks," he told a press conference in the afternoon.
