People Vinod Dasari is new COO of Ashok Leyland Our Bureau
Chennai , April 5 MR Vinod K. Dasari has joined Ashok Leyland Ltd as its Chief Operating Officer. He will head the company's manufacturing, strategic sourcing and corporate quality engineering divisions, according to an Ashok Leyland press release. Mr S. Nagarajan, at present Executive Director — Manufacturing, will take charge as Executive Director — Projects. A postgraduate in Engineering Management from the McCormick School of Engineering and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, 39-year-old Mr Dasari was till recently Joint Managing Director of Cummins India Ltd. Mr Dasari commenced his career with the General Electric Company in 1986 and joined Timken USA as Senior Business Analyst - Manufacturing and Strategy, after completing his MBA in 1992. He then moved to Timken's Indian operations as Director of Manufacturing and Technology. In 1998, he was appointed Managing Director of Timken India. He served as the President of the Global Railroad business of Timken USA for two years, before joining Cummins in 2002.
