Uttam Galva opens new mill

NEW DELHI: Uttam Galva Steels Ltd (UGSL) on Monday announced the successful commissioning of its latest reversible cold rolling mill.

The new mill, which is part of the Rs 350-crore expansion plan, will enable the company to manufacture import-substitute-grade finished cold rolled sheets to cater to the exacting standards of automobile and white goods industry, according to a company release

The new cold rolling mill will increase UGSL's cold rolling capacity to 7.5 lakh tonnes per annum. The company plans to reach one million tonnes by end of 2006 with an addition of another 2.5 lakh tonnes new capacity.
