CCL to expand capacity, consider FCCB

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , April 6

CCL Products (India) Ltd, formerly Continental Coffee Ltd, is on an expansion drive that would see the company scaling up its manufacturing capacity and setting up a freeze dry facility with an investment outlay of about Rs 65 crore.

The export house may consider a rights issue or a preferential offer and even a foreign currency convertible bond (FCCB) offer, details of which are under consideration.

It has convened an extraordinary general meeting on April 29 to finalise the FCCB issue. The Chairman and Managing Director of CCL, Mr C. Rajendra Prasad, said: "The demand for instant coffee has gone up significantly and the existing capacity of about 5,000 tonnes is inadequate. Therefore, we have embarked on an expansion to hike capacity to Rs 6,500 tonnes by December."
