Shah Rukh Khan may star in next Hyundai `safety' campaign

Our Bureau

New Delhi , April 6

HYUNDAI Motor India seems all set to take its now-controversial "safety" campaign a step further with its brand ambassador, bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, likely to endorse it in an electronic campaign.

"We have only discussed it with Shah Rukh till now. The ad is likely to be made by Shah Rukh Khan's company," Mr Subbu said.

Hyundai's campaign seeks to push the Santro as a five-seater, at the same time hinting that there are other models from rival manufacturers in the compact car segment which are four-seaters. The company in fact released a print campaign today giving the listing of five-seater and four-seater small cars in the country as per the specification of the country's "premier certification and homologation agency".

The new campaign was released after its earlier one was objected to by the Automotive Research Authority of India (ARAI). The homologation agency has asked Hyundai to refrain from using its name from any marketing campaign.
