Amrita TV from April 14

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala will witness the birth of yet another satellite channel with Amrita Television going on air on April 14.

The Chief General Manager, Mr Sudhakar Jayaram, told newsperson that the new channel would go live with the First Amrita Film Fraternity Awards on that day. It has acquired the MPEG/IMX format for production/post production.

Latest technology is being employed to provide colour reproduction. Studio and newsroom facilities are fully automated with fibre-optic connectivity across the country.

Looking at the INSAT 2E/APR-1 satellite, Amrita TV's footprint will cover the whole of Asia from Japan to the Gulf countries, Australia, Europe and North America.
