Power for water schemes

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Electricity Minister, Mr Aryadan Mohammed, has asked the Kerala Sate Electricity Board to accord top priority for sanctioning connections to water supply schemes.

An official spokesman quoted the Minister as saying that the drought-like situation and shortage of water prevailing in many parts of the State had warranted the issuance of such a directive.

Applicants who have been in queue after paying up the necessary fees would be granted connections immediately. The board had issued necessary instructions in this connection to all division and circle offices.
