CHENNAI: Travel agents belonging to various industry associations such as the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Travel Agents Federation of India and the IATA Agents Association of India downed shutters in protest against the reduction of commission from 7 per cent to 5 per cent by some of the airlines.

A TAAI spokesman said the protest was about 90 per cent successful. The few agents who opened their offices had "their own reasons for opening".
