`IOC top trading co in Asia-Pacific'

NEW DELHI: Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC) has been ranked as the top oil trading company amongst national oil companies in the Asia-Pacific region for the successive second year, as per the annual survey conducted by Applied Trading Systems (ATS), Singapore, for the year 2004.

IOC is followed by Petronas of Malaysia, Sinopec of China, HPCL of India and ENOC of United Arab Emirates. The survey covered 79 major petroleum-trading companies in the Asia Pacific Region.

In 2004-05, IOC imported almost 32 million tonnes of crude oil and over three million tonnes of petroleum products while exporting over one million tonnes of products. For the year 2005-06, it plans to import around 40 million tonnes of crude oil.
