Petrol price hike not discussed in Cabinet meet

THE week long speculations on possible price hike on petrol and diesel was put to rest with the Defence Minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, stating after the Cabinet meeting "it was not discussed".

The market had been abuzz with talk of a likely price hike since the Petroleum Ministry had already circulated a Cabinet note on it.
