THE Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (Casbaa) has launched an India Chapter.

This move is in line with a regional strategy, Mr Marcel Fenez, Chairman, Casbaa, said at a press conference. The association also has a China committee.

Mr Deepak Shourie, Managing Director, Discovery Networks, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Indian Chapter of Casbaa. The other steering group members include Mr Peter Mukerjea, CEO, Star India as Vice-Chairman; Mr Kunal Dasgupta, CEO, Sony Entertainment Television; Mr Rajat Jain, Managing Director, Walt Disney Television International - India; and Mr R.C. Venkatesh, Managing Director, ESPN Software India.
