MUMBAI: Mill owners have filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the Bombay High Court's interim order restraining the Bombay Municipal Corporation from approving layouts on the mill land development plan.

The Supreme Court division bench comprising Mr Justice Santosh Hegde and Mr Justice S.B Sinha has issued a notice on this appeal when it came up on April 8. The mill owners who have filed the appeal include the National Textile Corporation (NTC), private mill owners such as Bombay Dyeing, Ruby Mills and Hindustan Mills and the Rashtriya Mill Mazdoor Sangh (RMMS). The appeal will come up for hearing on April 18. These mills had approved schemes for redevelopment and modernisation under the impugned Development Control Regulation 58 of 2001.
