APCO crosses Rs 100-cr mark

Hyderabad , April 11

THE Andhra Pradesh Handloom Cooperative (APCO) has achieved a sales turnover of Rs 100.27 crore during 2004-05, up 14.6 per cent from Rs 87.49 crore the previous fiscal.

The State Government has also released an amount of Rs 10 crore to APCO as a special fund to procure piled up stocks in the primary weavers' cooperative societies.

The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who reviewed the working of APCO, asked the management to take pro-active steps to protect the interests of handloom weavers by popularising handloom wear, press release said.
