KOTTAYAM: Travancore Cements posted a net profit of Rs 3.84 lakh last fiscal, said Mr Jacob Joseph, Managing Director.

The company posted the profit at the end of five years.

During the first eight months of the last fiscal, Travancore Cements had incurred a loss of Rs 30 lakh. But the loss was cut and the company gained a marginal profit of Rs 16,000 in January.

Last year, the company produced 22,901 tonnes of clinker and 29,965 tonnes of cement. The company expects a profit of Rs 2 crore in the current year, Mr Joseph said.
