Our Correspondent

Kottayam , April 13

THE domestic spot rubber prices were quoted steady on Wednesday.

Moderate enquires from various sectors, including north Indian buyers, supported the market to maintain the rates while a tyre major was also reported to be buying sheet rubber at current levels. Sellers seemed to be a bit cautious as the arrivals to the main marketing centres were not so impressive. RSS 4 was steady at Rs 57.25 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi.

The rubber futures turned weak quoting the April contract at Rs 57.60 (Rs 57.82), May contract at Rs 60.20 (Rs 60.55), June contract at Rs 62.20 (Rs 62.52) and July contract at Rs 63.20 (Rs 63.47) per kg for RSS 4.The transactions were low.

The physical rubber rates per kg were: RSS-4: Rs 57.25 (Rs 57.25); RSS-5: Rs 55.75 (Rs 55.75); ungraded: Rs 55.25 (Rs 55.25); ISNR 20: Rs 55.50 (Rs 55.50); and latex 60%: Rs 39.50 (Rs 39.50).
