Dishnet broadband plans

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: Dishnet Wireless Ltd., part of Mr C. Sivasankaran Sterling Infotec group, has announced its plans to invest about Rs 250 crore in its pan-India wireless broadband project and expects to commence operations with the roll-out of its services in Chennai later this month.

The company is in parleys with strategic partners for the roll out of its broadband network covering Wi-FI services, Wi-Max and wireless services for enterprises and expects to notch up Rs 100 crore in revenues in its first year of operations.

While the Wi-Fi service would be backed by about 6,000 hotspots across the country, the Wi-Max services would be rolled out in about eight cities including four metros by June. The Enterprise Wireless Intent Service (EWIS) designed for the enterprise segment would gradually be offered across the country.
