CHENNAI: EmbWiSe Technologies, a Chennai-based start-up company, has released SDIOWorkx, a Linux-based software that enables device and card designers to develop and integrate secure digital/SDIO support in products.

The SD/SDIO interface is becoming the standard in handheld devices, smart phones and consumer electronics due to its small mechanical dimension and low power consumption.

The initial version is supported on embedded Linux versions 2.4 and 2.6, says a company press release.
