Over 60 international buyers to take part in Lakme Fashion Week

THE Fashion Design Council of India on Thursday (FDCI) announced that over 60 international buyers from 12 countries, along with 90 domestic buyers, would participate at Lakme India Fashion Week 2005.

The week-long event is scheduled to begin from April 20.

FDCI council said in a statement that buyers from the US, the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, Spain, Japan and several other countries are expected to participate. Also, international giants such as Saks 5th Avenue, Selfridges, Harrods and Barneys are expected to confirm their participation.

Domestic participants include Kimaya, Be, Elan Couture Pvt Ltd, Ogaan, Ensemble, Shoppers Stop Ltd, Fuel, Kala Niketan, Sosa's, Ffolio, Elahe, Zenon, Evoluzione, Pantaloon and M&S House of Design.

Ms Rathi Vinay Jha, Director General of the council said, "We at FDCI are happy to see such positive interest shown by buyers both national and international. These are indicators supporting our view that fashion is a serious business."
