TN chamber plea on VAT Bill

Our Correspondent

Madurai , April 17

THE Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry while urging the Centre to settle the issue of implementation of value-added tax (VAT) by responding to Tamil Nadu Government's demand for compensation of revenue loss, has appealed to the State Government to release the VAT Bill immediately to provide sufficient time for trade and industry to fully absorb all its provisions and implications to enable them to suggest concrete suggestions that may become necessary.

In a statement, Chamber President, Mr S. Rethinavelu, hoped that the ongoing meeting on VAT at New Delhi would facilitate a settlement to the State's demand on revenue loss.
