Mixed trend in rubber prices

DOMESTIC rubber prices were mixed Tuesday.

While better demand from covering groups and purchase agents enhanced sheet rubber, ungraded rubber slipped a tad on diminished north Indian enquiries.

The remaining grades were steady with normal volumes. RSS 4 improved to Rs 58.75 and Rs 59.00 a kg respectively at Kottayam and Kochi from Rs 58.50 a kg on Monday.

In the futures market, May contract was quoted at Rs 60.10 (60.00), June at Rs 62.25 (62.12), July at Rs 63.15 (63.16) and August at Rs 63.10 (63.05) per kg for RSS 4.

At Bangkok RSS 3 improved to Rs 57.94 from Rs 57.42 a kg.

The physical rubber rates per kg were as follows: RSS-4: 58.75 (58.50) RSS-5: 57.50 (57.50) ungraded: 56.75 (57.00) ISNR 20: 57.00 (57.00) and latex 60%: 40.00 (40.00)
