Hexaware Q1 net doubles to Rs 23 cr

MUMBAI: Hexaware Technologies Ltd reported a 101.6 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 23.23 crore for the first quarter ended March 2005 against Rs 11.52 crore in the year-ago period.

Global revenues for the quarter stood at Rs 164.06 crore against Rs 114.37 crore in the year-ago period. As a standalone company, Hexaware Technologies posted a profit after tax of Rs 10.29 crore for the March quarter (Rs 8.04 crore). Total income moved up to Rs 78.28 crore from Rs 58.81 crore in the year-ago period.

The company said it acquired $32 million of new business orders; three of these are valued at over $5 million each. The other highlights include eight new clients in the quarter, two US clients awarding HR projects worth $15 million, total headcount crossing the 4,000-mark and the commencement of the Australian operations.
