Bangalore , April 19

THE British biotechnology sector, the second largest after the US, will put up a strong show at the annual Bangalore Bio 2005 event.

A 10-member business delegation is participating in the expo from April 22 to 24.

UK biotech companies will explore opportunities for collaboration and partnerships, apart from showcasing their strengths, according to a release from the British High Commission. The business delegation is sponsored by UK Trade and Investment.

UK Trade and Investment is organising a half-day B2B event - Discover UK Bio - on April 22, which will be inaugurated by the High Commissioner, Sir Michael Arthur. Sir Arthur will also preside over a formal signing ceremony between UK company Zenosis and EduTech, India.

The trade body is also hosting a `CEO Conclave', which will bring together over 400 industry leaders for a discussion on the prospects for the industry.
