THE State Government is keen on extending all facilities to prospective investors in the proposed apparel park in the Atchyuthapuram mandal of Visakhapatnam district, the Minister for Commercial Taxes, Mr K. Ramakrishna, has said.

He was addressing the members of a delegation sent by Brandix Apparel Company from Sri Lanka at the proposed apparel park site on Monday. He told the members that the State Government was expecting investment to the tune of Rs 20,000 crore in the park. He expressed the hope that Brandix would soon sign the agreement.

Mr Udena, leading the delegation, said his company could withstand competition from China, which is now the market leader. He felt that both Pakistan and India could compete with China. Mr Pravin Prakash, District Collector, explained to the team the facilities available and about the units coming up in the park.

Mr Satyanarayana Rao, Commissioner for Handlooms and Textiles, informed the delegation that subsidies would be offered on power tariff, water and land. There would be several other concessions and exemptions. Ms K. Ratna Prabha, officer on special duty for the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, said all clearances would be under the single window system.
