BHEL thermal sets touch all-time high plant load factor

THERMAL sets built by Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) have achieved an all-time high plant load factor (PLF) of 75.7 per cent last fiscal and generated 331.2 billion units of electricity during the period, according to a company release.
"This constitutes 78.3 per cent of the country's total thermal power generation which has considerably helped in narrowing down the gap between the demand and supply of power," the release said.
The release said that the performance was higher than the national average by 1.4 per cent. "Operating availability of these sets has also been recorded the highest ever at 84.3 per cent," the release added
Exceeding the Central Electricity Authority (CEA)'s commissioning target by 10 per cent in the utility segment, BHEL added 21 sets of 3,548 MW in the country, the released said, adding this has increased the installed capacity of BHEL utility sets up to 74,780 MW.
BHEL has also reinforced its commitment to provide efficient customer service aimed at facilitating uninterrupted power supply and keeping power plants in good running condition, it said.
