New Products & Services Titan launches gold & steel collection in Coimbatore R.Y. Narayanan
Coimbatore , April 21 TITAN Industries Ltd has launched the gold & steel collection dual tone watches in Coimbatore. Speaking to Business Line here, Mr M. Chakrawarthy, Regional Sales Manager (South) of the company, said gold-plated watches enjoyed nearly 50 per cent share of the watch market. The new product, apart from satisfying the consumer preferences for gold plated watches, would meet the tastes of the present day buyers looking for class as well as trendy products. While Titan was not the only player to enter this line of watches, he said that it was the only player "trying to create such a big market activity" for this segment, by roping in Aamir Khan to endorse the product and unleashing a promotional campaign with a budget close to Rs 5 crore to coincide with the marriage season. Mr Chakrawarthy said the company has come out with nearly 100 models in the new segment for both men and women and these would be available in the Rs 1,175-Rs 5,000 price range and these were all quartz models. He expected the gold and steel collection to account for about 10 per cent of the company's sales initially.
