Sonim Tech opens centre

BANGALORE: The US-based Sonim Technologies announced the opening of a new development centre in Bangalore to deliver IP-based products and services. It plans to recruit 50 engineers by July and invest over a million dollars, according to the CEO, Mr Bob Plaschke.

The new centre would develop end-to-end solutions for the wireless Internet, including application servers and clients integrated with wireless handsets for GSM, UMTS and CDMA technologies.

The first set of products to be developed in Bangalore will include VoIP for wireless, push-to-talk, direct voice messaging and the company is also looking at the next generation of wireless applications that can leverage the deployment of new wireless infrastructure, Mr Plaschke said.
