India's winning team

It is time management schools took a hard look at the lack of a winning streak in India's cricket team. Cricket is India's favourite sport and passion.

Yet, the country, with a population of one billion, is unable to raise and nurture a winning team whereas Pakistan, a much smaller country, is able to do a far better job of it.

The reasons are not far to seek.

Let us, for instance, re-examine the ongoing debate on retaining Saurav Ganguly as captain.

Had the focus of the debate been shifted entirely to the task of producing a winning team with winning strategies instead of the fortunes of an individual, India would given the Pakistanis and the Australians a rough time on the pitch.

India may have to redefine all its unresolved problems afresh, not just cricket alone, to find workable and speedy solutions.
