Blue Star on major expansion drive

New Delhi , April 26

CENTRAL air-conditioning and commercial refrigeration maker Blue Star is on a major expansion drive. The company is in the process of establishing its new facility in Himachal Pradesh at an investment of Rs 25 crore. The plant is expected to commence production in June and be fully operational by August. According to the company, it will initially manufacture window and split air-conditioners at this plant and later on add other products.

Blue Star is also investing about Rs 10 crore to expand capacity at its existing plants in Bharuch, Dadra and Thane. The company is doubling its capacity at the Bharuch factory, while in Dadra, additional machinery is being installed to increase the production of equipment for exports and a new R&D facility is being added.

In Thane, a latest laboratory for testing is being added as also increase in the capacity for manufacture of central air-conditioning equipment.

Blue Star is also increasing its presence in the West Asian and European markets, and expects significant growth in exports this year.
