Mumbai , April 26

SOUNTEX, the retailer that dispenses hearing aids made by Siemens Medical Instruments, is set to open shops in New Delhi, Goa, Bangalore and Vellore in the next few weeks, according to a press release. It recently set up shop in Mumbai.

At Sountex, professionals offer advice on hearing aids and such products as the `e2e' Wireless System, which allows communication between two hearing aids continuously. Any adjustment made in the hearing aid of one ear is automatically communicated to the hearing aid in the other ear. This enables the hearing aids to function as one hearing system. It also has an `e-pocket' remote control that allows changing settings on the instrument discretely, while also providing visual indicators on the status of the devices, including the battery current.

Sountex offers a full range of hearing aids with one to four channels. The retailer is present in Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Taiwan and Singapore. India is the sixth country to join the chain.
