ADB seminar on consulting services

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , April 28

THE Asian Development Bank (ADB) is conducting here a seminar on consulting services, as part of its multilateral role as a development finance institution on May 2 and 3.

The New Delhi-based, Consultancy Development Centre, EXIM Bank and APITCO Ltd are also participating and hosting the event, which is essentially to guide the Indian consultants to avail themselves of the global opportunities.

At present, despite having a broad knowledge base and positioned well, the Indian consulting community is not able to utilise the opportunities. Low awareness of the requirements and procedures for biding at international levels and selection criteria for consultants by international institutions are the key reasons.

International institutions are involved in the initiation of prestigious projects largely focusing on infrastructure development.

These institutions offer consultant opportunities based on the project proposals, which are then scrutinised as per international norms, according to Mr S. Srinivasa Rao, Managing Director of APITCO.

The two-day seminar would discuss various issues that confront the Indian consultants and the emerging opportunities, he said in a press release from APITCO.
