Engineering Alfa Laval Q1 net, sales up Our Bureau
Pune , April 28 FOR the first quarter ended March 31, 2005, Pune-based Alfa Laval has recorded an increase of 10.5 per cent in sales to touch Rs 128 crore compared with Rs 115.8 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. The profit before tax is up 17 per cent from Rs 22.3 crore to Rs 26.1 crore. Net profit is up 24 per cent from Rs 13.9 crore to Rs 17.3 croreTalking to presspersons after the annual general meeting, Mr Satish Tandon, Managing Director, said the company was in an expansion mode and would be pooling in an investment close to Rs 45 crore. These would involve expansion of production capacity of decanters and separators, he said. Mr Satish said that the company has an order book position of Rs 160 crore and order backlog of Rs 330 crore. He said the company, which has recorded a turnover of Rs 527 crore for the year ended December 2004, was targeting close to Rs 700 crore this year
