Rubber ends steady

KOTTAYAM: Spot rubber closed almost steady on Friday in a rather dull trading session.

Speculators seemed more cautious as the market failed to sustain at Rs 60 level for the second time during the month, indicating a technical weakness.

Rubber futures continued to record losses on Friday. The May contract was quoted at Rs 59.20 (Rs 59.35), June at Rs 60.75 (Rs 61.07), July at Rs 61.80 (Rs 62.03) and August at Rs 61.31 (Rs 61.71) per kg for RSS 4.

The spot market rates per kg were as follows: RSS-4: Rs 59.25 (Rs 59.50); RSS-5: Rs 58.50 (Rs 58.50); Ungraded: Rs 58 (Rs 58); ISNR 20: Rs 58 (Rs 58); and Latex 60 per cent: Rs 39.50 (Rs 39.50).
