HCV/LCV/Tractors AP sending team to Germany for talks with Volkswagen K.V. Kurmanath
Hyderabad , April 29 HOPEFUL of clinching the Volkswagen deal, Andhra Pradesh is sending a high-level delegation to Germany on Saturday night. The delegation would discuss with the automobile major some issues that came in the way of finalising a memorandum of understanding. The auto major has invited the Andhra Pradesh Government team to discuss these issues. "We are hopeful of clinching the deal. There are only a few issues that are needed to be sorted out," Mr Botsa Satyanarayana, Minister for Major Industries, told Business Line. If it materialises, it would significantly boost foreign direct investments into the State, he said. The possible location for the unit is Visakhapatnam. " This will give us headway in the automobile sector," the Minister said. "This is a process. It will take some time. You can't expect things to happen overnight," the Minister said. The other members of the delegation include Mr S. Bhattacharya, Commissioner for Industries, Mr D.A. Somayajulu, Advisor to Government on Economic Affairs and Policy Implementation, and Mr D. Ramakrishna, a senior bureaucrat.
