Chaba named GM India President

New Delhi , April 29

GENERAL Motors Asia Pacific on Friday announced that it would appoint Mr Rajeev Chaba as the President and Managing Director of its India unit, replacing Mr Aditya Vij.

Mr Chaba, who is the Chief Operating Officer of General Motors India Ltd, will assume the post from June 1.

Mr Vij, in turn, assumes new responsibilities in the GM Europe organisation as Executive Director, Sales, Marketing and After-sales, GM Norden, Benelux and Switzerland.

Prior to becoming chief operating officer at GM India, Mr Chaba served as Director (sales and marketing), GM Japan, where he facilitated restructuring of the GM business including significantly increasing the sales of the Suzuki produced Chevrolet Cruz, a GM statement said.
