Our Bureau

Chennai , April 30

AIR France will be code sharing with the US-based carrier Delta Air Lines daily from May 11. Delta is scheduled to operate daily flights to Chennai and New York through Paris from that day.

Mr V.S. Subramanian, Regional Manager, France Air, general sales agents for Air France, said that there would be no quota restrictions on the sales of seats on these flights. Passengers can connect to over 100 European points out of Charles De Gaulle airport, Air France's hub in Paris, he said. Delta and Air France are part of the nine-member Sky Team alliance, which includes Alitalia, CSA Crech Air, Aeromexico, Korean Air, KLM, Northwest and Continental.

Mr Subramanian said the flight would depart Chennai at 2.45 am and arrive Paris at 9.55 am (local time). The majority of the passenger who patronise the flight would be corporates, followed by leisure and the ethnic traffic from Pondicherry.

Effective July, Air France will be flying to Detroit from Charles De Gaulle airport
