Management Cooperation among industries sought to explore new business Our Bureau
Bangalore , May 1 THE All-India Management Association (AIMA) in association with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) organised a National Management Forum on "India's New Opportunity-2020" here. Speaking at the forum, Mr Sudhir Jalan, Senior Vice-President, AIMA, said, "Owing to low birth rates and various other reasons, many countries today face workforce shortage, whereas India has a large pool of skilled manpower that is available at lower cost compared to international levels, thereby providing competitive advantage and growth opportunities to many industries". The forum sought participation and cooperation from various industries such as telecom, education, biotech and healthcare to explore new business opportunities. In his opening remarks, Mr Ashok Soota, Chairman, NMF and Chairman and CEO, Mind Tree Consulting Pvt Ltd, said that the two factors that need improvement in these sectors are education and infrastructure. According to him, there is a shortage of experienced personnel in the field of education. There is a huge demand but also significant unemployment and the Indian economy has grown despite poor infrastructure, he said.
