Chennai , May 1

TVS Motor Company will be coming out two or more variants of TVS StaR, depending on the success of its second variant TVS StaR Deluxe, Mr Prasad Narasimhan, Vice-President, Marketing, TVS Motor Company said.

The company introduced the Deluxe variant following the success of its TVS StaR, an entry level 100 CC 4-stroke motorcycle. The TVS StaR Deluxe is targeted at the urban and semi urban customers.

Mr Narasimhan said that the company had signed on Tamil film actor, Surya to be the brand ambassador. The company decided to peg its advertising to a film star as the southern markets were cinema led.

The company also announced the launch of `TVS Seyal Veeran Award', an award that recognised ordinary people who rose to extraordinary heights. Surya presented the first TVS Seyal Veeran Award to Mr Anand Kumar, a fisherman from Akkarapettai for his pivotal role in the rehabilitation work in his tsunami-hit village.

The Bhoomika Trust, an NGO that was actively involved in tsunami relief operations across Tamil Nadu, selected Mr Anand Kumar following a rigorous selection process.
