Procter & Gamble chief in India

Mumbai , May 2

MR A.G. Lafley, President and Chief Executive Officer, Procter & Gamble, is in India on a two-day visit as a part of his larger visit to the ASEAN, Australia, India (AAI) region.

This is Mr Lafley's first visit to India after he was elected President and CEO of the consumer goods company in 2000.

"Mr Lafley's visit to India is part of his regional review for AAI. Visit by global officers is to be in touch with local businesses and are conducted periodically in different parts of the globe," a P&G spokesperson said.

Mr Lafley is slated to hold internal meetings with top officials at P&G's Mumbai office.

India is Mr Lafley's first stop. He is slated to leave for the East Asian countries on Tuesday.

Recently, P&G had announced a 10 per cent growth in its March quarter sales bettering market expectations.
