Hyundai vehicle sales in April tops 19,000

HYUNDAI Motor India sold a total of 19,915 vehicles in April 2005, a 2.2 times jump over the 9,001 units it sold in April last year.

Domestic sales at 13,362 vehicles this April marked a 2.3 times increase over the 5,670 vehicles it sold in the same month last year. Exports were up 97 per cent - to 6,553 units compared to 3,331 previously.

According to a company press release, Hyundai Motor India sold 14,552 units of the Santro (7,090 units in April 2004), 1,026 units of Getz, 3,791 units of Accent (1,365), 206 units of Elantra (504), 119 units of Sonata (30), 200 units of the Tucson and 21 units of the Terracan (12).
