Rendering good service

This refers to the article "Go beyond the `revenue minus cost equals profit' mindset" (Business Line, April 21), which draws a comparison between the ICWA and CA.

I would like to mention a few areas where cost accountants are specialists and are rendering commendable service to the industry and the country — contribution analysis of product for each industry in which they are employed, cost-benefit analysis, product mix, yield analysis of products, cost audits, and excise audits.

In fact, these are only a handful of services out of the large pool rendered by cost accountants, which are acknowledged and appreciated by industrialists and bureaucrats.
