Rubber Rubber prices gain Our Correspondent
Kottayam , May 3 RUBBER prices recorded an all-round improvement on Tuesday. Covering groups and purchase agents turned active again expecting revised and better quotations from major manufactures amidst low supply. All grades gained smartly but latex 60 per cent closed static following low trading interest. Sheet rubber RSS 4 moved up to Rs 59.50 both at Kottayam and Kochi from Rs 59.00 a kg on Monday. Rubber futures was almost steady and dull. The prices were moving in a narrow range with a weak under tone and low volumes. The May contract was quoted at Rs 59.80 (59.77), June contract at Rs 61.80 (60.84), July contract at Rs 62.70 (62.75) and August contract at Rs 61.30 (61.41) per kg for RSS 4. The physical market rates per kg were as follows: RSS-4 Rs 59.50 (Rs 59.00), RSS-5 Rs 58.50 (Rs 58.00), ungraded Rs 58.25 (Rs 57.50), ISNR 20 Rs 58.00 (Rs 57.50) and latex 60 per cent Rs 39.50 (Rs 39.50)
