Oilseeds & Edible Oil Ruchi Soya Q4 net at Rs 8.86 cr Our Bureau
New Delhi , May 4 RUCHI Soya Industries Ltd (RSIL) posted a 20.4 per cent increase in net profit for the year ended March 31, with profit after tax of Rs 41.13 crore as compared to that of Rs 34.16 crore in the last fiscal. The company registered a sales increase of 9.3 per cent with sales of Rs 3,908.1 crore as compared to Rs. 3,573.62 crore. For the quarter ended March 31, 2004, the company reported a net profit of Rs 8.86 crore as compared to Rs 3.23 crore in the fourth quarter of last fiscal. As for turnover, the company recorded Rs 1,265.35 crore of sales in Q4 of 2004-05 as compared to Rs 1,055.69 crore in fourth quarter of 2003-04, said a company release. Commenting on the results, Mr Dinesh Shahra, Managing Director, Ruchi Soya Industries Ltd, stated, "RSIL is ambitious to increase focus on branded sales to tap the emerging opportunity in the vegetable oil business. We intend to have leveraged Nutrela on the health platform and extended it to the healthy oils category, and have also extended the soya foods range". As per AC Nielsen ORG Retail Audit All India Urban data, March 2005, RSIL corporate share stood at 16.7 per cent. The company has invested close to Rs 1,000 crore in this, stated the company.
