Rs 900 cr for panchayat roads in AP

THE State Government is planning to spend Rs 900 crore on panchayat roads and office buildings during the year, of which Rs 150 crore is to be earmarked for internal roads in villages.

All the Assembly constituencies will get Rs 2 crore for a road, according to Mr J.C. Diwakara Reddy, the Panchayat Raj Minister.

The Minister toured Pendurthi and other villages in Visakhapatnam district on Wednesday as a part of Praja Padham programme.

At K Kotapadu he laid the foundation stone for a Rs 2-crore road between Ramachandrapuram and Lankevanipalem and sanctioned funds for completion of another road.

The Minister interacted with members of women self-help groups.
