Kalpataru Power net rises 80 per cent

MUMBAI: Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd has reported an 80 per cent jump in net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2005 because of higher sales.

Net profit climbed to Rs 12.14 crore or Rs 11.18 a share compared to Rs 6.72 crore or Rs 6.19 a share during the same time last year. The company also announced a 50 per cent annual dividend.

Net sales and income from operations increased 57 per cent to Rs 172.29 crore (Rs 109.83 crore) while other income fell to Rs 7 lakh (Rs 59 lakh).

For the financial year ended March 31, 2005, the company reported a more than 100 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 28.72 crore (Rs 14.12 crore).
