Hyderabad , May 8

THE International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (Icrisat) will host a one-day meeting of the Indian Association of Agri-Business Development (IAAD) on building public-private partnerships (PPPs) for promoting agri-business on May 19.

The IAAD, established in 1999 under the Chairmanship of Dr M.S. Swaminathan, brings together different stakeholders in the PPP process.

The May 19 meeting is aimed at bringing out a Patancheru Draft for effective PPPs to undertake R&D from lab to land, with emphasis on contract farming.

Dr Swaminathan will preside over the May 19 meeting, according to an Icrisat release.
