Rubber prices continue to rise

RUBBER prices continued to explore further highs on Monday.

Thailand's call for a 20 per cent hike in rubber prices sent a positive signal.Domestic trading activities were driven by shortage of raw material and covering groups procured rubber blindly at sellers quotes. All-round buying added gains to all grades.

In the futures, May contract was traded at Rs 61.88 (Rs 60.23), June contract at Rs 62.79 (Rs 61.96), July contract at Rs 63.15 (Rs 62.42) and August contract at Rs 61.85 (Rs 61.06) per kg for RSS 4.

Spot market rates a kg were: RSS-4: 61.00 (60.50); RSS-5: 60.00 (59.50); ungraded: 59.50 (59.00); ISNR 20: 58.75 (58.25) and latex 60 per cent: 40.00 (39.50).
