Gender Hema Ravichander quits Infosys Our Bureau
Bangalore , May 9 MS HEMA RAVICHANDER, the global head of the human resources at software major Infosys Technologies Ltd, has quit. Infosys officials confirmed on Monday that Ms Hema Ravichander, Group Head and Senior Vice-President, has resigned and "would be transitioning out of Infosys over the next few months." Incidentally, this was her second stint with Infosys. "I am currently exploring various options including consultancy opportunities in the human capital management space," Ms Ravichander told Business Line. "I have been with Infosys for over 10 years. I have learnt a lot from this company. The HR and organisational metrics are robust and I felt it is time to move on," Ms Ravichander said. An alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Ms Ravichander was responsible for the overall aspects of human resources development at Infosys and for the Infosys group companies across the globe. When Ms Ravichander joined Infosys during the mid-nineties, the organisation had a few thousand employees. Today, the company has an employee strength of over 36,000, bulk of which were added during the past few years. In a study conducted by Business Today in 2002, Ms Ravichander was identified as one of India's top 25 young executives: the only woman to figure in that list. Last year, Dataquest selected Ms Ravichander as one of the six IT Superwomen.
