Thiruvananthapuram , May 11 THE United Democratic Front (UDF) Government in the State will celebrate its fourth year in office with month-long programmes throughout the State. The Government has formed district-wise committees to oversee the conduct of the programmes, which will begin on May 16 and conclude on June 15. The Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, told newspersons after a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday that the ministers would see to it that the achievements of their respective departments over four years of the Government's rule were properly highlighted during the period. The Cabinet also decided to give title deeds to aided educational institutions in the State, which have been functioning on leased lands for years. This, however, would not be applicable to individuals, the Chief Minister said. Mr Chandy rejected the allegations of corruption levelled against him by two MLAs of his own party in relation to some of the development project deals, such as the Smart City in Kochi, struck by the Government. The MLAs owe allegiance to the new National Congress (Indira) party floated by Mr K. Muraleedharan. In respect of the Smart City project, he said that Dubai Internet City, the promoters of the project, is part of Dubai Holdings, a venture of the Dubai Government. Thus, it was a government-to-government deal with no scope for corruption. The Chief Minister asserted that his Government is committed to creating employment opportunities for the youth of the State by attracting large-scale investments and that it would not be deterred by attempts to stall its efforts in this direction.
